SSC JE Date of examination (Junior Engineers in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract Examination) has been changed twice since December 2016. Earlier on the exam notification, it was scheduled to be conducted on 8th December 2016 (Paper I of SSC JE 2016) as CBT (Computer Based Test).
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organisation under Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.
Later the date of examination for SSC JE 2016 has been changed to mid-December. Again the commission has changed the date to February 2017. As per latest release (as on 18th Jan 2017) the commission has mentioned a new date for SSC JE Paper I.
SSC JE 2016 and onward examinations will be conducted in two tiers. Tier I will be a computer based test (CBT- SSC has introduced this first time for SSC JE exam) paper-I objective pattern test.
Paper -I (objective – 2 hours) of SSC JE will contain 3 sections.
Section -I: General Intelligence and reasoning – 50 questions
Section-II: General awareness – 50 questions.
Section-III: Engineering discipline specific objective paper – 100 questions
Tier-II: Paper-II Subjective paper/Technical engineering discipline paper (3 hours, 300 marks)

SSC JE 2016 admit card can be downloaded from SSC regional/zonal websites once they will be available to download. SSC JE admit card can be downloaded by registration/roll number, the same generated during application of SSC JE.

A student can start preparing for SSC JE by first go through the detailed exam notification and detailed SSC JE Syllabus. After analyzing the syllabus and pattern of examination one can start preparing for SSC JE in a regular and time bound manner. Make your schedule of study and revision as per the syllabus, divide your schedule in sections (General Intelligence and reasoning, General awareness and Technical subjects).
